About WhySoGeek

WhySoGeek is an independent tech desk for people who just want the fix. Troubleshooting guides, plain-language explainers and the tech news that actually matters, across how-to, support, AI, security, crypto, software, gaming, entertainment and news.

Fixes that actually work

Every guide is written to get you from broken to working with the fewest steps. No 1,500-word preamble before the solution.

Honest, no upsell

We do not push products you do not need. When a free fix exists, that is the one we lead with.

Researched, then written

Each post is researched against current, primary sources, release notes, vendor docs and reputable reporting, and every article lists its sources.

Updated daily

A new, researched troubleshooting guide or tech-news explainer is published each day, so the site stays current without churning out filler.

How the content is made

Posts are produced by an automated pipeline that researches a topic against live web sources, drafts the guide, and publishes it. Editor Sam Carter sets the coverage and checks each guide against the sources it cites, and those sources are listed at the bottom of every article so you can verify the fix yourself.
